As a social media consultant, I believe in the power of using social media to boost your productivity and I’ve heard time and again how easy it is for people to get caught up in lots of busyness and miss the opportunity to boost their business.
Google Plus is one of the newer platforms on the social media horizon, but it’s one to pay attention to, given its connection to Google search. And it’s great for networking, but let’s talk about how to use Google plus strategically, using its circles feature, to save time and boost your company’s profits.
What Are Google Plus Circles?
Google Plus Circles are their version of “lists” from other social media programs.
How Can You Create A Google Plus Circle?
#1 – Go to the Google Plus Toolbar near the top of your browser.
#2 – Click on your name or avatar and then click the button “View Profile.”
#3 – This will open your Google Plus home page. On the left side, click the Circles button icon.
#4 – You’ll see your friends at the top and 3 circles at the bottom that are labeled; the left one says “Drop here to create a new circle.” Drag and drop any of your friends into that circle to create a new circle. When you’re finished adding friends, click “Create Circle.”
#5 – Give your circle a name and click “Create circle with # people”
#6 – Your circle will appear with your other default circles that Google Plus has created for you.
2 Tips for How to Use Google Plus Circles To Save Time
#1 – Google Plus Circles will let you connect with the right people at the right time. How? Use Google Plus circles to focus on posts from particular groups within your friends. From your home page, use the menu of circles to select which circle you’re viewing at any given time.
#2 – Use Google Plus circles to follow trends in your area of business and how your connections feel about those trends. Note – this is a great source of ideas for future blog posts, too!
3 Ways How to Use Google Plus Circles to Boost Profits
#1 – Create a circle for networking contacts. Use the +1 feature to promote their posts, and they’ll be likely to do the same. Do this often enough, and you’re likely to see referrals from them as well.
#2 – Create circles for influencers in your niche, making sure to pay attention to early trend information. Use these as topics for blogs, Tweets, and of course, posts on Google Plus! Increase your credibility and influence, and you’ll be on your way to boosting your profits, too.
#3 – Create a circle for your customers and clients. This allows you to stay on top of any issues or concerns. Also, you can focus on providing useful content for these valued connections. As you answer questions and issues openly and transparently, you’ll be seen as a source of outstanding customer service – and you’d be surprised how this can boost your bottom line!
